Beginner's Tile Workshop

Designed for absolute beginners, this 12-hour workshop is an ideal introduction to the art of mosaic for anyone looking to explore it as a creative hobby or develop the skills to pursue mosaic art professionally.

The workshop is conducted over 4 sessions of 3 hours each, providing you with the time and guidance needed to learn the fundamentals while creating your own finished mosaic artwork.

What You Will Learn

Introduction to mosaic tools
Basic cutting techniques for vitreous glass tiles
Tile placement and adhesion using the direct method
Understanding basic andamento and tile flow
Grouting techniques
Creating textured or poured backgrounds
Composition, spacing and finishing techniques

Your Mosaic Project

You will create a mosaic artwork approximately 40 × 30 cm, or an equivalent area in a square format.

A selection of carefully curated patterns is available upon registration. These designs have been assessed to ensure they are realistic and achievable within the 12-hour workshop.

If you have a design of your own that you would like to work with, you are welcome to share it with us before the workshop. We will assess its suitability and complexity to ensure it can be completed within the allocated time.

For more detailed or ambitious projects, additional workshop sessions can be purchased to allow you to complete your artwork at your own pace.

What's Included - All mosaic materials required for the project, step-by-step guidance, grouting and finishing materials.

Simple framing of your completed artwork can also be arranged at an additional cost.
